The framework of the engagement

Terms of use (English summary)

English summary of the LegalEase terms of use, including the Word add-in as a distribution channel. The governing version is the Hungarian one.

Effective from

1. Provider and governing language

LegalEase is operated by Watt Mind Korlátolt Felelősségű Társaság (Watt Mind Kft.). This page is an English summary published for non-Hungarian customers and for Microsoft AppSource certification; the governing text is the Hungarian „Felhasználási feltételek” at /informaciok/felhasznalasi-feltetelek/, which prevails in case of any discrepancy.

The Hungarian document sets out the general terms of use; the specifics of access are governed by the service agreement accepted by the parties and by the Data Processing Agreement (DPA) covering case material.

2. The service and its professional users

LegalEase is software supporting the work of attorneys and legal professionals: matters, documents, participants, tasks and data requests in a workspace, with authorised AI tools for document analysis, legal research and drafting. Providing this software is not an attorney engagement and not legal representation.

The law firm designates its members and sets their roles and matter access. Users sign in with their own account and do not share credentials.

3. Case material and permitted use

The law firm determines the purpose, legal basis and authorisation for the material it uploads, and may only submit content it is entitled to process. Accessing another firm's data without authorisation, circumventing access controls, distributing malicious code or deliberately disrupting the service is prohibited. Security issues may be reported through the support channel.

4. AI output must be reviewed

Output may contain incorrect facts, incomplete reasoning or inaccurate citations. Before professional use, delivery to a client or filing, the facts, citations, temporal applicability and the applicability of conclusions must be verified. The absence of a search result does not prove the absence of a relevant rule or decision.

5. The Word add-in as a distribution channel

LegalEase is also available as a Microsoft Word add-in, distributed through Microsoft AppSource or through the firm's own deployment process. Installing it neither creates a LegalEase account nor grants access; the user must sign in with an existing LegalEase account.

These terms and the privacy notice apply to the add-in exactly as they apply to the web interface. Sign-in uses a password in an OAuth 2.0 authorization code flow with PKCE inside an Office dialog; the add-in does not use Office single sign-on (SSO).

The add-in copies the whole open document into the workspace automatically when the user opens the chat for it; the user can pause this from the chat's (i) menu. Where the copy is stored, how long it is kept, that content is transmitted to model providers, and that no PII screening runs for Word-originated requests are described in the privacy notice.

AI output appears in the add-in as Word's own tracked changes or comments; accepting or rejecting them is the user's decision. The professional-review requirement above applies to text produced in the add-in.

Microsoft's own terms also apply to the use of Microsoft AppSource; they do not modify the relationship between Watt Mind Kft. and the law firm.

6. Fees, availability and support

Participation terms, available features, usage limits and any fees are agreed before access is granted. The terms introduce no automatic renewal, overage charge or payment obligation.

The terms do not commit to a numeric availability figure or a fixed resolution time; any service levels are agreed separately. Issues can be reported as described on the support page.

7. Liability and disputes

The law firm is responsible for its own professional decisions and for the processing purposes it defines; Watt Mind Kft. for performing its own service, processing and security obligations. Any limitation of liability, the governing law and dispute resolution are set out in the service agreement, subject to mandatory legal limits.
